WHAT IS A “CONTRADA?”
The Contrade are the eight historic districts that constitute the center of Montepulciano.
They each have their own colors, coat of arms and distinct identity, and represent small, vibrant communities. Each district has also its own culinary traditions, and the recipes of this page refer specifically to the characteristic gastronomic specialities of each.
These dishes are not merely food, but a true heritage passed down from generation to generation; a journey through the authentic flavors of Montepulciano that you can discover by exploring the offerings dedicated to each individual district.
